In Jizan, put on your hiking boots and walk through Wadi Lajeb, the valley that will remind you of the Grand Canyon and is called “heaven in the desert”.

Close to Wadi Lajeb is Jabal AlAswad, translated as "Mount Black", one of the highest mountain peaks in the region, which appears black from a distance but is completely green when you get closer. About 90 kilometers from AlAswad mountains are the terrace farms in Faifa, which is also a must-visit stop just for a bird’s eye view of the neat terraces. 

In the Asir region, you will experience the best of Arabic heritage in Rijal Almaa. This neatly laid-out village has 60 ancient palaces made of local stone, clay, and wood and is now a Unesco site with its own museum. You can also go hiking in Aqbat Alquroon.
